The article is written by Jack Watkins who met James, head beekeeper at The Hive Honey Shop. They had a delightful chat about all things to do with bees and honey. Jack left with a new found interest in bees and we would not be surprised if he too took up beekeeping!

Battersea Children's Zoo- Honey Bee Day- A Success!

Despite the weather all those who attended the Zoo for the Special Honey Bee Day went away Buzzing with information and honey bee goodies! Bernie the Bee, The Hive Honey Shop's Bee Mascot was on hand spreading the cheer.

The Hive Honey Shop's beekeeping team were in one lodge with our live observation hive, loads of beekeeping equipment and beehives to demonstrate the importance of bees and beekeeping. Fiona, the zoos event coordinator was in another lodge helping the little ones make their own bee puppets to take home. It was well received by all.

A big thank you to the owners and staff at the zoo who made our day with them a memorable one. We had a wonderful time and look forward to being invited back very soon.
