Apple Harvest Day at our Bee Heaven Farm, Surrey

It was a busy and successful apple picking day on the farm in preparation for juicing. Friends and family all joined in to lend a hand or hands! All in all we hand picked over three tons of apples! The really amazing thing is, the orchard has over 200 trees with 76 different varieties.

When we press the apples, on average there are more than 55 different varieties of apples in each bottle of our juice. You really can taste the difference. If you have a shop and would like to stock our juice, all you have to do is ask!

Beekeeping Talk a Success!

The beekeeping talk at Waterstones, Clapham was a true success. 75 tickets were sold for this event and there was only standing room left for those arriving later. The evening lecture covered many of the problems facing bees and beekeeping at present throughout the world today.

James, The Hive Honey Shops head beekeeper, was asked by Waterstones Books SW11 to speak at this years Literary Festival.

"I really enjoyed the evening and taking questions from the public. They are very concerned about the present plight of declining bee populations and how they can help. Many were interested in taking up beekeeping, which I think is a great idea and will help to increase the honeybee numbers. It was great to see familiar faces in the crowd, many customers of The Hive Honey Shop. The staff at Waterstones were very supportive and genuinely interested in finding out more about bees and honey.

I would also like to thank Wandsworth Council for their commitment and support in bringing this literary festival to life. I look forward to seeing whats in store next year!"
